Driver Education is offered through Benton School District via Southwest Wisconsin Technical College in Fennimore, WI.

Summer Theory Class in Benton
Monday through Friday - June 3rd - June 21st - 8am-10am
Students wishing to take Driver Education need to register via the Southwest Tech website for the Driver Ed theory course. There are options to take the course online throughout the year or you can also take it during our summer offering in Benton. Future summer offerings will typically be three weeks in June and will be 2-hours a day for five days a week. To register for the classroom theory portion, click here and choose "Driver Ed Theory" and then select the section you wish to take.
You may also register for Behind-The-Wheel via Southwest Tech's website.
STEPS TO GET YOUR PERMIT:
- Take & Pass "Driver Ed Theory" course either face-to-face or online.
- Be at least 15-years of age.
- Register for Behind-The-Wheel training.
- Receive signed MV3001 form from Mr. Kern or Southwest Tech.
- Pass the written exams at the DMV.
- These tests may or may not be available via Mr. Kern at Benton.
Please Note: You will NOT receive the paperwork for your learning permit until you have registered for the Behind-The-Wheel course.
