My name is Kyle Kern and I started teaching at Benton Schools in September 2012. I teach Elementary and High School PE as well as K-12 Health. I also coach high school football and track and field where I work primarily with throwers and pole vaulters. I am a Level 2 USATF Certified Track & Field Coach in the sprints, hurdles and relays.
I am originally from Cuba City, WI and I attended UW-Platteville where I earned my Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, a minor in Health Education, and certifications in both Adapted PE and Coaching. I student taught at Platteville Middle School and then worked with Cuba City Schools and their Phy-Ed grant prior to coming to Benton. I am currently working towards my Masters in School Counseling.
When I'm not at the school teaching or coaching I enjoy astronomy and have the occasional astronomy night at Benton and I also spend a lot of time with my yellow lab, Teddy!
I am also the Benton School District's Social Media coordinator. If you have something you would like to post to our social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram) please send me an email!
